Probably looks right at home next to that amazing classic copper 1970 Z28 that you shared with us a while back. Great car; congratulations.

Including an unrestored Black LS6 coupe. Great collection.

I was wondering......did the $240,000 red LS6 change the market, or was that just a "Barrett-Jackson moment"? If it DID change the market, what is a time-capsule reference specimen such as this one worth now? I'm not prying and asking specifics; more of a barometer reading situation.

Well, there's nobody paying $180,000+ for 10th Anniversary Trans Ams since last year's Scottsdale auction when that happened, so I'd say 240K for an LS6 hardtop is the same situation - a market anomaly involving two guys who wanted the car, that's it.

Kudos to the seller for getting that for the car but I personally do not see that as the new mark any more than the $1.2m was the new mark for an LS6 convert and we all know what happened to that car the very next year. All these sales do is hype all the sellers up thinking their car is now worth double what they were asking. Are the prices for LS6's climbing again? I think a little but nowhere near that mark. I personally think the same thing now as I did before, if there is only one interested buyer the prices will stay stable. If there are more than 2 buyers at an auction that must have that car than the sky is the limit. However, I do not feel that makes it the new barometer. j/m/o
