I was going to do that a few years ago. I had a set of done aluminum heads stashed in the Man Cave attic, got them from a friend at a nice price too. So when I changed up Black Beauty with the SS hood and rear spoiler delete...

Checked with Bruce Bachtolder at NHRA, No paperwork or data from GM for any L89 Novas......period. Just the Camaro in '68 and '69 and Chevelle in 1969. That's it. Stock and Super Stock classes.

Is this the right place to get info on my 1969 L89 Corvair? I know that a certain run of Monza COPO cars were built, but I hear that my four door hardtop is the only 1 of 1 ever built. My friends tell me that the only thing more desirable is the rare 348-powered 1961 Rampside model, but they could be wrong. I see you folks know a lot about things like casting numbers and compression ratios too. I'm going to rebuild my L89 396 and to get the compression ratio the same as that 1970 Nova you guys talk a lot about, I was thinking that maybe if I get a couple of boxes of cut off wheels for my Makita angle grinder I could take the domes off the pistons? Isn't that how you do it? Anyway, when I git 'er done, can I get some of you guys to double check the numbers? That way, when I take it down to the auction, I can get big money for it. How much do you think she'll bring?

Also had secret L89 option for the '69 Z28. Special aluminum heads with screw in studs and BIG valves. Very rare!
