Has anybody actually seen a B/J Seller bid to own his own Vehicle back?
We know they allow it,but I'm curious to know how obvious they really are about it?
Is the seller on stage doing it in front of the camera,or do they have a buddy do it for him in the seats,or online,or is the actual seller on the other end of a cell phone bidding just outside the Tent? or...

It's not a very good strategy for the guy to announce that he will pay any price to have the car while the bidding is going on. I don’t want to sound like a conspiracy nut, but if you got a sucker then a “phone bidder” is a perfect way to get him to keep upping the price.

gemleeus - Maybe it was well documented. I don't know. I know I liked it a lot! I know I have to have a hemi. That 68 Plymouth factory hot rod would be absolutely perfect. But one of the lightweight racers would be even better. It will happen one day. Or I will insist that my wife bury me in one!!!

I was 15 or 16 when I looked under the hood of one. I was mesmerized. Still am. Maybe that's what's wrong with me.

I would have thought the Motion Vette might have gone for a bit more, but IMHO the people that the BM cars appeal to are not typically "Vette Guys" and the "Vette Guys" like their cars stock.

I was thinking this car was sold from a PA dealer and not Baldwin. That would certainly impact the value of a car, but I think because it is a vette, there is a smaller group of buyers for this type of car versus a BM Camaro for instance. The market has spoken in this case.

Actually...I walked up to him anonymously and told him to tell his buddies on the show that they don't have a clue....that maybe they should just shut up if they don't know, or maybe do some research on rare and unique cars before they open their mouth...

Ed, First of all I to think the Hammer came down alittle too quickly. Hood should have been opened and maybe revved it up alittle to get the crowd into it. Most Corvette buyers are purest, also I don't the people on the west coast really know what a Motion car is. The $210,000 was too cheap and I feel he should have maybe bought it back for the 16%. When the Motion was next to my YENKO at GM Carlisle he said the owner wanted $400,000 for it. The car appeared to be mostly a body conversion, the engine seemed basically stock.

Does anyone that has seen this car in person have anything to add as far as the quality or the extent of the restoration? I also am very disapointed with the lack of respect it received.

i did see it advertised last year for $400k. I have seen pictures of it but seeing it on tv it looked much better. I would imagine givin that, that the car looks better in person. I thought the car went to cheap. I wonder how this will effect the convertable motion vette at $170 that was for sale (still may be) late in the year
