Can anyone tell me much about this fuel pump, I have heard a few members here say the red is not a real good pump?

All I know is the set I bought in '69 was blue and it's still working.

The red pump is the lower volume and pressure, I believe it is 7 1/2 max psi. Still a great pump for the street and regular cars.

This is the very earliest design-painted all red..later just the top housing was red and the pump housing was bare aluminum.

You may wanna ask someone with a Holley info sheet or Catalog . ..even the Holley/Mickey Thompson catalogs from around '72.. the reason I mention this, is the Red Fuel Regulator .

Red = 5-7 1/5 No Regulator Required !
Blue.. 10 + MUST USE REGULATOR
Black. 15 + MUST USE MATCHING REGULATOR

I'LL look in my Holley / M/T catalog later tonight.

Tom
I was thinking the same thing..never seen a red pump come with a regulator. I have 3-4 in the box nos no regulator

The question is was this pump painted this way from Holley or did someone do it?

The very original Holleys were painted this way-Red or blue all over.
