Bruce, been awhile since I checked things out. Glad to hear the kids are all right...kinda like the WHO song. Myself, I had a incident with a deer a couple weeks back while driving a 69 Z. I had to swerve to avoid it and wound up 25 yards in the woods. Missed some 4' diameter trees by inches but was still banged up and just getting back. Deers and hospitals suck but I'm here and back on the mend. Many of the first responders told me someone was looking after me. Those folks were great and I sincerely thank them for there efforts. I got a chance to look at the impact zone a couple of days ago and saw that a few inches to the left or right would of been very bad....terminally bad. Those folks do a great job and I am very grateful. As for the deer, decorum won't let me post my true thoughts but they are not pretty. Before anybody asks, there is one less 69 Z on the road....it was totalled and off to the crusher

Tks Bruce....it was not a good experience, once my wife and kids saw me, the car and scene I can tell you all, many prayers were were answered....a few busted ribs, one wrist, a nose with racoon eyes and a messed up spleen....i'm so happy to be here posting today. Hindsight is always 20/20....but maybe I should of taken out the deer!

Sorry about the car Tom but great you're Ok and on the mend!
I've hit too many deer and other animals over the years and it's very hard in the moment to make any decisions but often better to hit the poor creatures than swerve.
