Re: Barrett Jackson Tuesday Pics!!!
Hey, what happened with the curtain backdrop tubes that fell on the 61 Lincoln right after it sold. The announcers immediately changed the subject and turned the cameras away. They never mentioned it again. Anyone have an update??? Inquiring minds want to know!

Re: Barrett Jackson Tuesday Pics!!!
I saw that too. I was wondering what happened. I remember when Brock Yates was doing the color for the broadcast one year, he said that if any damage happened to the car once it was sold and moving off the block, the new owner gets stuck with the bill. That kinda sucks!
That was a beautiful car, too bad it got clobbered with that pole. And Bruce....Thanks for taking all these awesome photos. It's been a pleasure viewing them! |

[ QUOTE ] Sold for 75k and 10% buyer fee and 8% seller fee which equals $ 88,500. The guy that owned it is the owner of featherlight custom coaches they said. Also the car after the 2002 ZL1 he bought it was a 6 Pak car. [/ QUOTE ]Does that mean that the owner of it only walked with 69k? I thought these cars were in the 100k region [/ QUOTE ] The White/Black ZL1 was not a Stage III 427 Car. |

Re: Barrett Jackson Tuesday Pics!!!
[ QUOTE ]
[/ QUOTE ] I think Shelby built two of these radical 427 roadsters in 1966 or 67. Shelby heard that Bill Cosby was a Ferrari driver so he gave one of these twin-turbo 427s to Cosby, who recorded a comedy bit about the car on one of his albums, "Bill Cosby at 200 MPH," (I think that was the album name). Cosby's wife made him give the car back to Shelby because it was too much of a monster. The other car was kept by Shelby for his personal use. I read somewhere that one of Shelby's senior guys, Peyton Cramer, was out driving this car on an L.A. freeway when the C-6 automatic suddenly shifted into Low at 70 mph. The car did a few 360s and wound up backwards in the median. Cramer walked back to the shop and told the crew to go get it because he wouldn't drive the car again. (Going from memory so feel free to correct me!) |
