With an M-20 trans the 3.73's would not be bad off the line, but with M-22 or 21, agree would be a sluggish combo.

I agree... my 68Z has 3.73's and with the M21 it's not the ideal combination off the line. However, after refreshing the original engine I installed a nasty SBC from American Speed and a Tremec TKO. Problem solved.

The 302/M21 are safe and sound in my garage.... &amp; I drive the hell out of the car now without worrying about the original drive train.

I currently have 3;73 w/M21, I may try an M20 before changing gears.

The M20 is better suited for hard pulls. The M21 is a road race trans.

Originally my car came with 4.10's and an M21. I installed a set of 4.56's and put an M20 trans in. Felt like a different motor.
