Hey Bob...we may have stumbled onto the compression problem in this hole

[/ QUOTE ]

Looks like the 396 that I had rebuilt for the Convert that we took on the Power Tour......I supplied a Brand new GM forged crank and was charged $3200 for the Rebuild at a local engine shop.....On the PT I went thru 7 quarts of oil and when I went back and said there was a problem with the engine.....YADA......YADA.......you know the rest of the story........pulled it out when we got back from the PT and still don't have it back........it's always gonna be done next week......don't worry.....we'll call you.....

Bruce.......I think it's just a Marina Blue big block "Thing"........

Relative to other things....it's not important........just annoying

Ken

I had a 68 CE 396 engine in the garage that I put in the same day as I took the bad one out....so at least I got to drive the car over the summer......

Hey Bruce, I hear those big blocks run good once you get all the bugs out...those bearings look like they should be good for another 100K miles though - you're just barely into the copper on some of them!

That's what was amazing...it did keep on ticking...though with the appearance of those bearings...not for much longer.

Seattle Sam...got any more of those burnout photos?
