Very underrated performance potential especially 1987-1992. Most third gens carry the front for a considerable distance at the drags and the 9 bolt is one very tough rear end.

Many will laugh at these cars until they line up against one... Highly cost effective build even today in a day 2 configuration.

That's fast & I would suspect it was tweeked a little before it left the plant although with the N10 & I suspect an aluminum drive shaft - it should do well.

My 87 in it's only trip to a track by one of the former owners achieved a best of 14.57 @ 91.71 MPH with 88k miles showing (it had more on it) and block & heads being replaced under warranty. Temp on the slip says 115!

Like your friend's B4C/1LE Charlie, my 91 Z28 pulls noticeably harder than the comparably equipped 90 Formula I had last year. You could tell with your eyes closed which car you were driving.

LG4 or L69? L69, you're going to pay.

IMO L-69 can be as much as a $10K bump.

4 wheel discs also means a posi in '85, which is a nice thing to have. J65 4 wheel discs and posi were bundled together in '85. Also in '85 I believe the 700R4/LG4 came standard with a 3.23 rear end which should give some decent torque multiplication with the LG4's low RPM torque.

BTW, my yellow '85 came with disc/aluminum drums and an open rear end. With the L69 cammed LB9 and 3.42 gears, it's a one wheel smoke show at anything beyond half throttle. Getting a posi for it is on my "to do" list.

If this '85 actually has 10K miles and is mint, sounds like an interesting car, and one you could have some negotiating leeway with.
