I saw these photos on FB the other day. Not sure if they have been posted before, but figured I’d share them. I wish there was a way to give credit to the photographer or owner of the photo without taking away from the actual subject. Pretty cool photos.

Dick Harrell’s 427 Z-11 powered Retribution 11 continues to compete with the addition of injection.

Dick Harrell built a fan base as a driver, tuner, and his showmanship. Wheel stands, such as the one pictured, sometimes caused crashes? “Retribution” wasn’t exempt from this?

After the crash, Harrell borrowed another Chevy11 from Jim Kirby to fulfill the commitments he had scheduled for awaiting match racing. The borrowed car was known as “Sad Sack.”

Jim Kirby was committed to purchasing “Retribution II” from DH until it was crashed. “Sad Sack” was Tommy McNeely’s Chevy II which DH acquired and passed onto Jim Kirby to fulfill their purchase agreement. In the ‘70’s, this car sat behind a gas station just a few miles from where I’m currently typing this!
