Not any more. Deal is done and headed to new owner/collector. Will likely get cleaned up, issues fixed and then driven. Hopefully full restoration in the next couple of years.

I read somewhere that GM added the 9737 as an option during the 69 year, as requested by Yenko . Is there a month known as to when GM approved and started to use the option?
cheers Dave

COPO 9737 was likely developed in conjunction with COPO 9561, supposed to be exclusive to Yenko Sportscars Inc. The only documentation known is the internal parts listing Chevrolet may have sent to certain dealers. The copy I have is included with a letter originally dated January 2, 1969; revised July 1969. The listing includes a grid with 12 ECLs and the equipment associated with each. 4 of the ECLs are flagged “used as a vehicle combination with COPO option 9560”; the other 8 are exclusive to COPO 9561. They are differentiated by transmission type and whether or not the center fuel gauge was included although a tach part number is not included or mentioned. None of the 4 9560 ECLs included the fuel gauge.
I have a few shippers and window sticker copies that list 9737. One of the first COPO 9561 ’69 Camaros built lists 9737JD [no fuel gauge] with a price of $126.40. A June car has 9737FD with a list price of $184.35. This car is known to have been built with U16 but it is not on docs and must have been included with 9737FD. ZL1 #65 was built with 9737JD but has a list price of $160.10. Worthy of note: at some point 9561 no longer included positraction and a 4.10 axle. The June car lists G80 as an extra-cost option [probably mandatory] at $56.90 because it included H-D cooling when a 4.10 axle was specified. There was an additional charge of $2.15 for the 4.10 ratio. So, much remains to be learned about COPOs.

Don Yenko was given the COPO number 9737 in 1968 for the Yenko Sports car conversion Camaro option including the 140 speedo, large ft sway bar and other HD parts.
Fred Gibb was given the COPO number 9738 for his special order 1968 Chevy II SS396 L78 TH400 cars As far as I know, only Don and Fred were allowed to order those 1968 cars. In 1969 the COPO 9737 option was used for special order 427 Chevelles and 427 Camaros for any dealer |

are you saying there were 51 built not 50 of the COPO 9738 Chevy II? any documentation or is it just hearsay? A lot of documentation shows 50 built including a letter to NHRA from Chevy's Paul Prior and Vince Piggins and all of Fred Gibb's info including his vin list. http://www.competitionplus.com/2005_03_05/deuces.html |
