Re: Supercar Photographs
This Camaro was built just over 400 cars before your Berger car was and is 1 body number off the one that the SCW restored. I don't know who restored this one.

Check in with Mr. Bimby at Nickey Chicago...he has another Jack Douglas Yenko Camaro every bit as nice as this yellow one and it's pics deserve to be in this thread.

Re: Supercar Photographs
----This yellow Douglas/Yenko may have first been restored many years ago by our member, George Weathered. He found it, I believe, in Downers Grove and did a nice resto for the time. Cant remember how long he kept it but it was yellow and from Jack D.......Bill S

The Yellow Douglass Yenko on the Cover of "Top Muscle" was exquisitely restored by SCW. http://www.motorbooks.com/books/Top-.../9780760345146 If memory serves the other Yellow Douglass Yenko shown in the pics above was found for sale by Bob Trez in the Milwaukee News Paper. It was very original when found, including the original engine. Mike G had it restored quite a while ago and it is now owned by another member. |

Re: Supercar Photographs
Does anyone have any pictures of douglas yenkos with yenko stripes from when they were new? I have never seen a vintage picture of a day1 douglas yenko.
The reason I ask was because I was at chevy vettefest once with my black camaro L78, and there was a yellow copo right across the isle from me, one of the best restored cars I have ever seen, probably not as good as SCW, but I thought it was nice. I though it was maybe a yellow douglas car. Anyways, while I was standing there during the show, a guy came up with a vintage picture of a yellow camaro with a black hockey stripe, and showed it to the owner of that yellow car. I was not sure if it was that car from back in the day, as I could not get into the conversation the owner was having with that person that had the picture. But I always wondered. |

Re: Supercar Photographs
As George W. states in his post the car he restored was 649313 which is the car the SCW restored and is on the cover of Top Muscle. The car in the pictures I posted is 648934 and according to Stefano's post above Mike G. had it restored when he owned it. I didn't want to make any members here mad by posting the VIN's of their cars, but since the VIN's are in the registry I guess it doesn't really matter.
