Nothing new guys. Just "breaking in" the new clutch a little. I am having the car photographed Monday evening for an upcoming issue of All Chevy Performance, looking forward to the photos.
I also registered for a few passes at Pomona Drag Strip this October for the In-N-Out Burger 75th anniversary car show and drag racing event.... Tim, the wheels you sold me are great and are on the car! |

Tim sold me some very nice "survivor" condition 15x4 Cragars. He replied to a wanted ad I posted on the site. The 15x4s I have were restored incorrectly. Will probably work with tubes. I will probably sell them with a disclosure.

High 12's should be a very attainable

Took the car to the local 1/8 mile track on Thursday night to practice for my "big" 1/4 mile outing on Sunday 10/22, and I'm sure glad I did. Got three runs and could only muster a 1.90 60' leaving at 4,000rpm with 13psi in the tires. These are M&H "Muscle Car DOT Slicks". They definitely bite, I'm running them with tubes. Car ran 8.04 at 90.4mph. Some adjustable shocks are in order to keep the weight on the rear tires. If I can get the 60' in the 1.70s I should hopefully be in the 11s in the 1/4. Not bad for a full weight 3.55 geared 4 speed street brawler.
I also found a clean Edelbrock Tarantula TM2-O intake which should help add some RPM on the top end, unfortunately I won't have it on by this weekend. I think the 496 needs a little more plenum than the Torker has to offer... will pair with a 1" phenolic spacer to keep the classic 70s look. |
