Default CL wheel paint? Body color both sides?

Now I am wondering how this wheel should be sprayed. I know my car calls for a body colored wheel. But I am not sure if that goes for both sides of the wheel or if the inside is black with overspray. Any help appreciated. Photos even better.

I wouldn't try to remove the tire to paint it, just mask it off.

I was thinking that or just popping it from the bead.

Black base color should be painted first....then the blue is painted and blown thru the wheel openings so you see the overspray on the back side of the wheel...other experts may have different thoughts.

After looking at a few original wheels with Don that seems to be our thought as well. Thanks Tom.

I still have the original wheels from my '68 Chevelle and they're exactly as Tom describes. If you need pix D, just holler.

Darren,

All you need is four more steel rims and some chevy bow tie baby moon caps? That would look sweet.

Default CL Wheel. Grease pencil on tire??

I have the spare restored and was cleaning the tire today. I found grease pencil markings on both sides of the tire in the same position. Is this something the factory would do? Or is this a vintage 70 marking from a parking cop?

In the pics you'll see it has fresh Mulsanne Blue on it from Don at NOS Restoration. Thanks Don!
