So many people to thank, and I'm sure I'll forgot someone, so forgive me! Firstly, all the folks who brought cars, memorabilia, or just an enthusiam for these old cars...without y'all, this could never happen! Also, all y'all that liked the nametags and dash placards, thank Dennis Cumby and his printing skills! And those of you who liked the parking job and layout of the cars inside the Gateway Center, then thank Bob Ashton and Johnny Kat for leaving the racing fun early to mark off the floor. And you folks who got another cool (and free!) "sYc" cap, once again thank Steve Sandlin...he also sent a few SWEET cars for our viewing pleasure! All of you who enjoyed Friday night's festivities, thank our special guest speakers Bob McClurg, Lynn Yenko, and Mel Bogus, as well as our talented & entertaining auctioneers, the Barr brothers! Thanks go out to the Mayor & First Lady for not only running the Deuce shootout, but the bracket race as well...and big Mo for his duties at the starting line! I'd also like to extend a personal *thanks* to Brian & Joe and the rest of the SCW gang...when dad hung out his neck to put together SCR1, Brian gave us his word that we'd not just be a lone Yenko Camaro sitting in a grass lot in the middle of Tennessee...from that Labor Day weekend almost 10 years ago, all that you saw this past weekend was spawned.
And as impressed as I was about the show itself, the part that probably touched me the most was the outpouring showed at the auction...not only by the bidders knowing that the proceeds were going to a good cause, but by the folks willing to help by donating items, some by folks that knew they couldn't make it! |

Great job to all involved, at all levels, as well as the supporting members who were not able to be there this year.
Can't wait for SCR XI. |

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] First I would like to thank the Clary family for the hard work in once again hosting the SCR. I was very proud to be one of the lucky few that were recognized with a "Decade Award" for attending all ten SCR. That was a real surprise and, it still amazes me that the time flys so fast. [/ QUOTE ] Let me add to what Brian said above. For those of you who couldn't attend, there were eight people called to the stage on Friday Night for the Decade Awards. Those named and present were: Brian Henderson Joe Swezey Joe Barr Erik Barr Fran Roberts Mark Hassett Rayburn Pennington Mark Kickel and of course, Mr. Tom Clary. Not sure about Rob, but please let me know and we'll make sure the appropriate certificates are delivered. Congratulations gentlemen. ![]() [/ QUOTE ] Well, I owe some apologies to a few gentlemen. After talking with Tom I've learned there were actually 12 people who should have been recognized on Friday night. It comes as no great surprise to me that these guys sit in the background and ask no recognition, but ...........Sorry Gentlemen; that just won't cut it! The other four who have attended ALL TEN REUNIONS are: Tom Clary (previoisly mentioned) Rob Clary Jon Clary and Johnny (Kat) Roberts Although we don't say it often enough, your work and dedication is truly appreciated. Your Certificates will be mailed shortly. Thank you ALL! ![]()

My hats off to anyone who has ever brought a car to a SCR, but the ones who attended SCR1 will always hold a special place in SCR history. An outdoor show, with drag racing, for dealer built cars only. Talk about a leap of faith for those attending.
Following the event I had more then one owner tell me "you know, we really did not expect much, but came anyway to help you out. What a pleasant surprise". The official list from SCR1. <font color="red">1966 Yenko Stinger Corvair Mike Halsey Yenko Stinger Corvair Larry Thomas 1967 Yenko Camaro Jim Parks Yenko Stinger Corvair Robert Landers Yenko Stinger Corvair Bob Dunahugh 1968 Yenko Camaro Kory Smith Gibb/Harrell COPO Nova Ray Morrison Yenko Camaro Bob Trezniak(?) SCR1, Rob and Mark Kickel duking it out. Super Chevy magazine did a nice 2 page spread of this matchup. If memory serves me correct, the first pair of cars to race at a SCR were BKH in a Fathomg Green Yenko Camaro and Bill Ogle in a Fathom Green Motion Camaro.

AT SCR2, the drags got rained out, but we did have autocrossing for the Stingers. Here is Mo running the course.
