Sometimes I'll make a sarcastic comment with the people I know on the site, but it may not always translate as intended via the net. I'm fine with most of the questions asked from people looking to maximize their RTI, but I can see Vern's gripe over this particular tach. Not really muscle car related, so collectively we've become a strong catch-all resource for unrelated parts and such.

I am in sales and probably can't see through my personal bias. I don't have any issue with anyone buying and selling for a profit. It amlost started to seem like there was an unofficial rule villanizing the selling of parts unless they were at a loss. I try to buy low and sell high, but often I can only find what I want at high prices and I do end paying or even overpaying by some people's standards. In the end I am happy with my purchases.

I thought Matt's spot at Carlisle this year was probably the best collection of parts in the place and his prices seemed fair to me. I would like to encourage more to bring those kind of parts out.

I also consider myself lucky to have local guys churning things up and flushing things out, and I can swing by and check out. But don't get me wrong. Most of us enjoy the thrill of finding rare parts etc. So a healthy balance is nice. Seems we have that most of the time.

Thanks for the posts everybody. I think posting this tach here was probably a mistake since it is not muscle car related at all, although that is why I posted it in the lounge. I was amazed when I saw the size of this tach and I thought others would be interested and possibly would be able to ID the original application.

I do plan to keep the tach, that is why I put such a high reserve on it($1000). However, if someone did need it for a proper restoration of its orignal application(which is????) than they would need it more than me and the reserve could be a bargain.

Verne,

I have a ton of unfinished projects as well. This began as a hobby for me and morphed as a way of life over time. I love working on muscle cars and the parts are part of it. I think everyone wishes they could do what they love and I am lucky enough to do just that.

I can say Jason has always given me the " the brother-in-law " price when he had something I needed, because of being a member here. Besides that, he's good at what he does, and presents his items well.

Hey Jason, here is that Sun Machine I was telling you about. I'll be selling it as soon as I clean it up and figure out exactly what everything is. Neat Tach by the way!

Thanks for the kind words Jim.

Tommy, that machine is awesome! Its got it all! That vacuum tube that looks like a carb sycronizer/lung tester. Don't get too close to that manometer fluid, it looks like it may set a geiger counter off!
