I just got back from the auction. #54 block was worse then you could imagine. Not only blown in the crank area, but also looked like it froze. Inner and outer water jackets badly broken out on both banks. I agree with the "piece of history" though. I stopped bidding at 5k - coffee table got too expensive!
I picked up a few parts. Lots of mis-marked stuff (marked NOS and was used). One thing that looked OK (for the right price) on tomorrow's auction - #1022 curved neck radiator for automatic with a "B" date (no tag). I don't need it, but maybe one of you could use it.

Bruce,
Wish I would have known that was you, I would have introduced myself. I was right behind you in the blue hoodie.

Thats understandable. I list lots of items on here; some sell, some don't, but I don't have a lot of time to list everything in just one place.

So is it ZL1 #56 block or #54?
If #54, that block's had quite the life racing since new also originally from the only ZL1 'listed' as being delivered new by a Canadian dealer.
This past thread has some info...

Thanks for clarifying Bruce!
Did you see the stampings or know who created the lot description?
Does anyone know of this block existing previously to auction or who the successful bidder is, someone here?

An online bidder won the ZL-1 block. I do not know who it was. The block has been kicking around for a long time in local circles. The stampings are 100% legit (in my opinion).
