Yes his book does and it shows that the cowl does not get painted from side to side. It shows the paint stopping well short of the pinch welds

Also ironic all the pics of it clear across are quite shiny. Being lacquer paint and that GM never colour sanded this area makes me wonder .

Tony Huntimer RaceHome.com [/ QUOTE ] no, we did a lot of the cars in the late 70's & 80's never thought to take pictures of the steps but finding cars in bone yards it was ez to determine what the car was by the stripe color on the cowl of the VN cars (or lack of)
