you might be right!

My old 4P L78 had been repainted by the time I got it, but there were remnants of the original black tail panel showing in the trunk. I think I still have a pic of that on my old computer. I'll take a look if I have time.

Hmmm 🤔 Jeff H, that makes sense about Fisher thinking it’s a 350 car. Hopefully we can get some pics inside the trunk to check this out.
Good thinking 99.

Very interested in hearing if the rear panel is original paint.

I would not be surprised if it slipped through with body color paint since it is such an early L78.

Although not a Camaro, but worth saying, Jerry Frailey's original paint 1969 L78 Chevelle arrived without the tail panel painted from the factory. He was disappointed because his buddies Chevelle was……and he liked the look. So he grabbed one of his mom’s lace cloths and painted the black on the tail panel himself, with the lace pattern. It currently is covered with vinyl (I really don’t know why). Unfortunately, it can’t be seen in these pictures but if you saw the car in person, you can see the lace pattern underneath the vinyl.

My point being, could the tail panel on this Camaro been missed for paint……?

Just food for thought.

Kurt

No sign of black paint as I can see. I think this is the first 4P L78 we’ve had a chance to look at here on the site in detail. I’m enjoying it.
Thanks

I think I speak for many…..that we’re elated that you are keeping this special car in its current state……and not made in to a cookie cutter like other former race cars.

So thank goodness this time capsule has the right caretaker!!!

Kurt

on a side note, there’s nothing wrong with concourse restored cars, but this one deserves to stay the way it is….
