Re: Jeff Masishin's Day 2 SS427 Camaro
LOVE IT!!! At the risk of sounding off, I must say that your car and my latest purchase ('69 Camaro SS 396 Ex-NHRA Super Stocker) have quite a bit in common. I just picked up a vintage Lakewood 3-point bar (pretty darn hard to find)and how coincidental is this....your car had 971 miles when sold to you....mine had 977 when sold to me! I think there is a good chance that possibly they could have raced each other way back when. Mine ran at Indy and the Gatornationals in SS/D and B/S. Look for a blue '69 Camaro from this year's SLS. I think I remember seeing your car there a year or two ago, and was VERY IMPRESSED!!! I REALLY like the "1/4 Mile High" paint scheme.
VERY, VERY, VERY COOL INDEED!!!!!

Re: Jeff Masishin's Day 2 SS427 Camaro
Thanks DW! Post up some pics.
To answer a few questions back, BWAG said when he ordered and owned the car as the dealer, it came with the 4.56 gears. They had a new "service set-up" BX housing with the hardened, and High Impact 88's from the factory, so that go installed by the dealership. Here it is today just after I did a "freshening" of the housing. Nice and stripped Before paint remover. Note the 4* wedges from "back in the day"

any chance the L89 is still around? cool story for sure </div></div> I wish. Bob Wag said when it was delivered in Dec of 68, out came the L89 and in went the Booth-Arons L72. He said the aluminum heads were a pain in the ass back then and the block laid on the dealership parts room for months while being scavenged for parts.......imagine that today!

Ryan, here you go. This is the same pic that appears Phil Borris's book, Echos of Norwood. According to the same, this had a "Class D" defect, as the heater hoses were split by the emission hose. That was a no-no!

Re: Jeff Masishin's Day 2 SS427 Camaro
Pretty neat? REAL NEAT!!! That is one COOL car!!! I really like those old B&M shifters; any chance of some close-ups of that shifter? And about those wedges on the traction bars.....Grady has a set of them on his brown COPO, do you have any pics of those when you had all that stuff apart detailing the rear? I've not seen them available anywhere for purchase and they might not be too hard to have fabricated if I had the dimensions.

Re: Jeff Masishin's Day 2 SS427 Camaro
The rear end was stripped WITHOUT disassembling it! What a job that was. Tedious with the paint remover, but it came out perfect for the paint job with the correct black finish. Yes, those wedges are rare to find.
