From that web page...
"It can be installed by tapping on the spline column shaft with a rubber mallet in order to collapse the steering column. The factory column will need to be collapsed approximately 2.5 inches for clearance of the Corvette Performance Steering Box Kit." I personally don't like the idea of purposefully doing a partial collapse of my steering column and 2.5" does not seem like an insignificant distance. I had a Camaro steering column that was partially collapsed and I threw it out. |
