Considering it had a Chevy engine by 1965 (although the Studebaker hardliners insist it was not a Chevy, it was McKinnon engine!) it was pretty easy to use the existing K66 parts developed for the Corvette the year before.
Don't get me wrong; Studebaker had some great low cost innovations over the years; like a lock up torque converter in my 53. GM didn't use a lock up TQ until the 80s. But by 1965 the grave was already being dug for the Studebaker autos.
