 Istanbul One of the cities I visited while my mother was working for Air France. I remember drinking their beer. It was ice cold with no carbonation. We had a mantra . . . don't order American food - order local dishes. In one restaurant I ordered the house special - no idea what it was. Out came two fist sized lumps of meat covered in cheese and a tomato sauce with lots of garlic. After I finished I called the waiter over and asked what it was I ate. He said something and my mom started laughing. So I asked her what's so funny. She replied; "you just ate camel's balls!"
