[/ QUOTE ] Mine was the same as the '69; back of the passenger head, and it's a straight piece. Rick, What does the dog eared rear bracket fit? (45 degree cuts on the top corners)I have a few of those somewhere in a tool box. ![]()

Funny How this thread popped up as I was gonna post tonight to ask:
What color is correct for the 1969 L-78 BB front and rear lift hooks? I have seen them in Chevy Orange and in Cast color. Darrell |

Bare steel is correct but good luck with rust issues. I use cast blast paint and that has been accepted at judged events.
Orange was only on painted intake cars. They certainly didn't take the time to mask it off on the assembly line. Remember, "The General" was VERY frugal with time and effort!

The front engine lift hooks on our COPO Chevelle and that of a friend appear silver in the old original photos that we took.

I won't argue that the overwhelming majority of them were natural or silver, but like most everything we discuss pertaining to the General, there's two words we might want to avoid: ALWAYS and NEVER!

Are the plug wires on the LS6 originals?
There was a discussion in the last few days about the lightning bolt vs the Oval Packard Logo
