Rick, you make a good point.

After I got home, I saw the news and they were showing areas of Chicago that got golf ball size hail. Luckily, we only got rain. ( see attached ) |

Nice Score! I noticed the MN plates right away, where did you find it? Was there anything on the racing history you were able to dig up?

			HOLY CRAP !!!

I owe Rob Clary - - BIG TIME !! I asked him to post on the SuperStock Forum, to see if we could track down the original owner of the car..... I just got off the phone with the original owner, outta Sioux Falls, SD !! I was IMMEDIATELY asked if the car was For Sale ! He told me all kind of neat original history on the car. Including the stint in 1970 where it had a ZL-1 between the fenders, running 10.95/11.0's !! In it's original L72 forum, it was a consistent 12-teen car. It was campaigned as **Ennis's Menace** . He ordered it originally with 7.50 x 14 blackwalls with FULL wheelcovers. He specifically didn't order it with optional rims/tires, 'cause he planned on putting Cragers on it. The smog gear that I got with the car was taken off THE day he picked up the car. It definitely looks like it - it's mint ! He says that he didn't take ANY pictures of the car originally, because it was "just a race car" back then. But he does think that a buddy of his has a picture "somewhere". Hopefully, he can track it down. He had to get off the phone, but said that he'd give me a call back to talk more about the car. Whatta day !! |

musclebarge photo 68 Belair 427. I thought this is a cool photo. It has the "COPO sleeper" look with no SS emblems or stripes. You could have bought these with 425hp M22 and 4:88 gears for about $3000.00 Spend the week putting in headers, Hurst shifter, slicks, and a good tune up and on Sunday go to the track and run in the 12s. not a bad deal

Well, I've been thrashing to get the 'Scayne ready to return to the track. The *aluminum* Schieffer flywheel was SEVERELY cracked. The clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing were right in line with the flywheel .... JUNK ! All that is replaced, and ready for me to make my inagural pass down the track tomorrow at one of the FAST races at Norwalk. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/

[/img] I'll be in the Factory Stock class. My goal is to get a baseline on the car so that I have something to work from. I've got it pulling strong to 6500 right now - - so it should be fun. Now I just havta get my manual trans driving skills in check .... that will be interesting ....... |
