Interesting. I was told this was an original COPO car. I'd still check against the VIN. If you need any help I've owned a few of these cars over the years.

Well I guess that makes sense I forgot about the list of vin numbers. What's the chances of a copo car having drum brakes in the front.

If you look at it and get a good feeling about it you should call Dan Vasic to get a certification.
My info is only as good as a few great websites:-) I have seen information on both sides of the possibility of ordering front drums? Get great pictures of the trim tag, guys here can decode a COPO in their sleep (PM to the right guy) Ryan

Drum brakes on the front of a COPO was a COMMON CHANGE......for Drag Racing.. ..!!!!
If they changed to drums , alot of the Disc brake only pieces may still be on the Car.equalizer, proportioning valve,steering arms, bent or cut lines, booster and master cylinder among the obvious.

Back in that era they changed to drum brakes because it did not slow the car down because of disk grabbing while drag racing. [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/flag.gif[/img]

Haven't been back yet waiting on the owner to get home so my friend and I can go back and look at it. I haven't seen the car in person yet but my buddy has! Everything iv heard so far is second hand info!

Well unfortunately last Sunday my friend and I went back to get the numbers and talk price on this supposedly 69 copo Chevelle. The owner ( the son) was there and said the car wasn't for sale nor could we look at it. He acted angry and was pretty rude to say the least. Doesn't really add up the father told my friend, the son ( owner) lived in another state and told his father to sell the car. I'm gonna give it a while and stop back by there to see if the father will talk to me.
