I've seen quite a few sales invoices, and sales writers were notorious for spelling errors, and using a strange form of shorthand, as they typed up the receipt.

I'm guessing that "Exth. Ext." are the chrome exhaust tips (exhaust extensions), "Guages & Clock" is supposed to be "Gauges & Clock", and "Tilted Steering Wheel" is simply tilt wheel. "EZ All" may be tinted glass all around, and "Air Cleaner" may be the HD unit that used a foam filter. Some of these sales invoices were typed up by non-automotive people, so it wouldn't surprise me if "Ret H.D. Lmp" are the hideaway headlights.

The real truth would be the original invoice (from PHS) showing the codes.

I just checked the PHS and it shows the air cleaner on box 45 as "Air Cleaner, Dual Stage H.D." I had it wrong calling it a high volume air cleaner. I'll get the element number on it tomorrow. Mike, I think you have it right as the HD air cleaner. This is new to me.

Thanks everyone. Phil Woj

Gents,

Thanks for the help on this issue. I am always amazed by the wide range of info that members here are willing to share. I posted this on the GTO forum only to hear crickets.

Here are a few pictures of the original air cleaner. I was out of town and couldn't get any before today. The air cleaner instructions even say "Heavy Duty Air Cleaner". Never knew that was an option. Thanks Mike!!

Anyway, here are some photos of what is on the car. I presume this to be original to the car.

My plans for the car are to restore it some day. It has a cylinder with low compression that I have diagnosed to either a head gasket, rings or piston. That will be next winter's project.

Thanks again everyone. Happy Independence Day.

Phil Woj.
