The above posting surprised the sh!+ out've me as aside from this I've always very much enjoyed, appreciated and agreed w/ this member's input here.. Does personally knowing anyone's car on this site may be a rebody w/ illegaly transfered tags make this practice somehow acceptable here now?. Is this site's adage of <span style="font-style: italic"><span style="font-weight: bold">'Dedicated to the promotion and preservation of the Chevrolet dealer built Supercars and COPO cars' </span></span> still the case here or has something changed?. Pete, thanks for the nice words. It's just that the post about calling the police just kinda got to me and rubbed me the wrong way. I just don't like narcs, that's all! I just had an image of a fella being sentenced to jail time in front of his wife and small children and being taken away after committing a double standard crime where nobody was really hurt and that other people do all the time. Anyway, "re-Bodies" are a touchy subject these days and even after being around Musclecars for so long, I have yet to really form an opinion about that subject and probably never will. Lemme throw this out there.......what if this was a recently destroyed '69 ZL-1 Camaro where only the original engine with tags & paperwork had survived some garage fire? You think the car would come back or does it deserve to be gone from the planet forever?

gone with an asterisk denoting what happened to it IMHO
cars have been "rebodied" for ages and all for $$$$$$$ some people cut down Model A coupes to make trucks, others cut down truck to make tractors and still others have taken a "homely" Duesenberg sedan and changed it into a speedster wrecked or otherwise damaged vehicles have always been resurrected in some way or another since the dawn of time HOWEVER: IT IS ILLEGAL to take numbers off one body and add it to another, but that has also been done for decades. You have a wrecked car with a good drivetrain, simply swap it into another that is worn out IT IS ILLEGAL to "swap" vin numbers yet MANY MANY cars have had this done, some in an effort to make a stolen car "legal" others to take a badly damaged (wrecked, burned, etc) car "whole" again while retaining the VIN/ownership papers
