A-Roid came over with the big paycheck to win what he thought would be an automatic World Series Ring. Nothing would be better than to see his dream never come true.
Maybe he is the Yankees curse?

Alex has put the media to shame with his current streak in the 2009 play offs. The guy has one sub-par game out of a stellar ALCS and ALDS and Jonsey believes the Yanks are cursed. Man, when will the guy get any credit?

If you want to rip on a player, blast Nick Swisher. He is one of my favorite players in the league, scrappy, tough, energetic, but hes is slumping bad right now which is a total shame given his great numbers during the regular season.

Well Danny, Are you getting nervous? I think the Fightin's are on a mission! AJ Burnett was his old self the other nite! Whats going to happen if Ryan Howard wakes up?

Ha! How did I know this thread would be brought back...

Gerardi has been going with a 3 man rotation in the post season, like many great Yankee teams in the past have done. He has even said from the start of the season, come playoff time, he will go to the three man rotation.

I questioned whether or not they should have started Chad Godan or Alfredo Aceseves for game five but Gerardi made the right move in AJ. When you start throwing off the rotation it becomes a mental game too.

The Phillie were going to game 5 without question. The mental and physical strain on any team to win three straight road playoff games is too intense when you add up all of the factors. Yes, Sam - AJ was shakey on three days rest but what happened to the Phils in the 7-9th inning of every game thus far? Yankee hits and Yankee runs. Whats going on with that bull pen?

Now you have a well rested, record holding ace in Pettitte who has been a rock for the Yankees all year. The Phillies are going to need some luck. Pedro is going to fold, much like Ryan Howard has the entire post season. He seems to be following the model of A-Rod circa 2007 and current day Mark Teixeira.

It will be a brawl in the BX and I cannot wait for tonight. Best of luck to your team gents.

-Dan

Well Dan, I think the Yankees are a little more nervous that the Sillies. If the Yanks don't win I hope Joe G's job is not in jepordy. I like him! I don't think Andy is as well rested as he should be. Pedro, well who knows. I think the bottom of the Phils line up may be a tad stronger. Johnny Damon and Mariano Rivera are the main men right now it seems. I was just surprised that they didn't beat on Cliff Lee a little earlier. He was not as good as the first game and was a little tired in my opinion. Jobba Chamberlin has to step up also. And YES, Start the games at 7:05. I bet not many, if any are watching east of the Mississippi.
