Who said it's about liking us? It's about what's most profitable for them, especially considering the 1970s brought them tariffs due to Detroit lobbying Congress because the Big Three were getting their pants beat off of them. What did the clever foreign companies do? Build plants in America to avoid the tariffs.

In other words, I think it's you who doesn't get it.

It's economically stupid on so many levels to buy only from one country. And it's even stupider to tell someone what their needs are.
