I just shipped the Muncie case…..It’s headed back to the original car! His plan is to try and get it repaired and back in the Nova…..

yes, repairing an enlarged shaft opening is not difficult. The proper way to do it is to drill the hole out to a larger size and press fit in an insert that is then machined to the correct id for the shaft. A competent rebuilder will be familiar with this repair.

It's the input shaft bearing that spun, not the small counter gear shaft hole enlarged. It may still be a sleeve candidate, but the hole will need to be machined accurately for the sleeve as well, or welded and re-machined.

The new owner of the main case has a friend who works on transmissions. He’s going to have him try to repair it and get it back in the Nova.

Many people try to weld the broken ear back on the case. This usually doesn't work out very well. I've found that the best way to repair the case is just to build up weld and make a new ear. The case above was repaired without using the broken ear.
