The man who ordered my old 68 RS/SS 396 new said he specifically ordered the car with the M11 because he wanted a floor shifter and the bench seat so his girl friend could sit right next to him, I said you could have gotten a 4 speed... he replied "then my hand would have been preoccupied and she may not be my wife"

Curios where did you find it? Did the person selling it know what it was?

I originally thought the piece was out of a pinto or mustang II when I bought my 68 camaro.. when there was a GM part number on the inside I started doing research.

He took it out of his '68 and knew exactly what it was. It was the facebook guy I mentioned earlier. He appeared out of the woodwork a week ago and we got the deal done. I held my breath when I opened the box. Lol. I wasn't disappointed fortunately.
They certainly have the Mustang II look to them. I expect to have to explain to everyone what the hell it is and that it is indeed correct. |

If your attending shows display the 68 assembly manual. There are 7 pages dedicated to the shifter assembly that should quiet any doubters.
