Made some more progress this week. Picked up the parts from the blaster on Thursday and got everything but the hubs painted yesterday. Hubs will require some more cleaning to get the old grease out from the inside prior to painting. Got an initial quote on the aluminum trim restoration...........gulp . The brackets I needed for the seat trim came in and I ordered all of the brake lines/fittings/hoses for the swap.

Brake lines and related showed up yesterday, got some paint on the hubs last night so they don't rust up.
Thanks to e-bay I was able to track down a pair of original brake shoe anchor pins that I needed (picture of a single that came with one of the drums I bought). Those are being shipped. Will stop by my local NAPA store to pick up the bearing kits - as they stock them evidently. |

Working through vendors and getting close to sending out the aluminum trim - probably go out next week. Went down and took some underside pictures of the car this weekend for reference and also took for a quick drive. It appears that when they did the disc brake conversion they used the original spindles - so that makes things easier - I think. Good thing as I also found out the replacement spindles I acquired are not correct - the mounting boss for the backing plate is too short, not sure what they are from/for now - but they are restored lol.

What's the Bolander connection ? I sub-contracted work with him in the mid to late 80's.

I wonder if it is the same Carl Bolander that owned a construction and excavation company "Bolander and Sons" in St Paul, MN. Seems it would have to be one of the son's to still be "active" today.
