You know, that is what I thought. He must have gotten that number wrong, because it should be a 138 like the Trim Tag, right?

Well, talked to my b-i-l tonight, and he thinks the VIN tag may have been changed. I guess the guy who inherited it said it has "SDN" on the title.

Are there hidden VINs on 66 Chevelles?
If so, where?

There is one on the top of the frame at the rear wheel area, pull the rear wheel on the driver side, take a mirror with a handle and you should be able to see it.You may have to clean dust or dirt off but there should be one there. Not sure as far as the body goes but I bet there are somewhere. I had someone tell me before on the inside lip of the trunk on the driver side under the rubber gasket there is one but I never seen one there. Says it is stamped in the metal in the groove about 1 foot from the top edge right in the groove!

No hidden vins on 66's except the partial vin on the frame mentioned above. That's pretty much impossible to see when the car is on the frame. There would also be a partial vin on the tranny case...usually on the top. Again, hard to see with the trans in the car. Good luck!
