[ QUOTE ] I thought JJ was running a ZL1 in the silver vette, or is it an L88?? [/ QUOTE ] L88...that's the top tier allowed to run...the Mopar guys wanted the '64 Hemi, Chevy guys said "fine, then we'll build ZL1 Corvettes", so Bob/Dan nixed *both* of them... [/ QUOTE ] That's a bummer, I'd love to see a ZL1 'vette mop up on the '64 Hemi ![]()

I'm not sure of this, being the 1967 is so rare, but I do believe I was informed once that the 1967 L-79 Nova had a cast iron intake manifold with Quadrajet, saginaw four speeds and 10 bolt. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong on this. But if true, I would think that would narrow your search down to a 1966 model. I wanna say it was Car Craft, but back in the '70's, they were gonna implement some kind of new NHRA drag racing class that was 1967 and earlier and asked several racers opinions. Grumpy replied that with that cutoff year it would allow one year (1967) of the early Nova's and that since those cars are so light that would be the ideal car for the class. Even over the 1967-69 Camaros. There's something to get you pumped up!

[/ QUOTE ] Hadn't heard that about 67 L79 cars, but the part about having a cast iron intake and a Q-jet is a fact on 68 Chevy II L79 cars. My 68 Chevy II L79 car did come with a Muncie 4-speed and a 12 bolt rear end however.
