Hey, just found this post. Thanks for all the kind words, and while you don't have to thank me for doing my job, you're all quite welcome.

I'm with the 1st Cav Division (Fort Hood, Texas) at Camp Taji, Iraq. Have only been here a few months, so I've got plenty of time left in country.

Anyway, I can't wait to get home to my "kids" - 66 SS396 Chevelle 4 sp, Aztec Bronze; 69 Judge RAIII 4 sp, Carousel Red; '69 Judge RAIII 4 sp Antique Gold; 69 GTO Palladium Silver built 428 4sp; 71 GTX 440, 4sp, air grabber, Dana 60; 67 Fairlane, 514 with 796 hp (see Feb 07 Car Craft - Readers Rides); 66 Fairlane convt with 289. No, I'm not independently wealthy; they're almost all project cars that run and drive.

Thanks again!

Scott

Steve - well, you're doing quite well for yourself with an LS6 Vette and three E-bodies, clones or not.

Hey Scott, does the Middle East still smell like one big oil well? That's what I remember from my 1991 visit during the first go-around. That, and the SCUDs. And the Patriots shooting down the SCUDs.

Be careful over there.

I'm a few miles north of Baghdad and I don't really notice the smell, but my sniffer doesn't always work so well.

No more Scuds but plenty of other things that go boom...

It smells like burning garbage all the time here in Balad. The locals burn garbage right outside the fence. Go to bed smelling it and wake up to the same. Only two more weeks and back to the real world though.
