fed ex gives them selves a huge window for pick up and delivery times.....
then they don't delver within the time they specified,
then they have the nerve to state 'we really have 90 days to make the delivery according to contract'

Well this is timely, i am looking to transport a car right now and planned on using FEDEX. I had used them when they were Passport with no problems and just recently used them when they were FEDEX and again had good service. I have also used Horseless Carriag and intercity with good results.

What were the problems with FedEx?
Lets here the recomendations for my next transport.

thanks,

JOHN

I was pleased with Passport several years ago when they were a standalone entity. Never used them as FedEx. I used Intercity and found them to be great and thorough. They all seem to take a little longer than you would think in this day and age. I've heard good things about Horseless Carriage as well.

problems:

did not meet pick up and delivery schedule they provided
poor communication on driver assignment and location of vehicle en-route,
unwilling to meet advertised service standards
they place their pocket book ahead of their commitments
they make what should have been an easy and pleasant transaction just plain miserable......
they are also very quick to let you know that ... hey we have your car, it would be in your best interest just to make it easy for us.

in the end, they have no desire to make you the customer happy, although they are quick to figure out ways to maximize their profitability at your expense.

ivre alos done horseless carriage as well, but was dissapointed when i told them i had 4 cars after they quoted the price of one car, and all they did was multiply by 4......no discount for multiples....

Ive concluded that the various transport companies are at the mercy of numerous factors that are not always in their contol...and so....you get the varying degree or satisfaction by the buyer due to the circumstances of the travel, logistics and customer personal scheduling. I can image this begomes a logistic nightmare for larger companies going across the USA...so the level of satisfactions is not as high as more predictable business...JMHO.

They have alot of the open trailers but i wanted enclosed all the way with no drop offs.

Enio...you must have a horsehoe up your booty ...DAS sucks...period. They had no communication...my car finally came full of mud on a flatbed tow truck. Door to Door didn't mean enclosed ALL the way....they use hubs to tranfer cars from one truck to another...when I complained they just told me I could pick it up in Virginia if I didn't like it. They blow. Use Intercity Fred or Reliable. Road Scholars is excellent east of the Mississippi.

you are definately right about the level of satisfaction with fed-up... i mean fed ex.....

all i'm saying in conclusion is, let the site members beware

one last note: if a company promises something they should be good for their word, in my case they weren't
