LWA built the engine and added the ProCharger, plus every other modification that was done to the car. After requiring more than two years to build, the car went back to LWA via flat bed 4 times during the next year or so. Each time it had made it less (usually far less) than 10 miles and would end up staying in the shop 3-4 more months. Enough was finally enough.

[ QUOTE ] According to Mike and Ron, the guys who built most if not all of them, they will run mid 11's all day on street tires. [/ QUOTE ] Uhhh...seems like Christensen was just running mid 11s @ around 120 at SCR5 *on stickies*...and he made a bajillion passes and was running the horse-piss outta the car. The "10.90" ET above I could see with work, but I'm not buying that 136 trap speed... [/ QUOTE ] Ron you hit he nail right on the head. Only two words missing in front of the word " work ". " A " and " lot ". Murphy is a very good honest man who knows what he is doing. He has been to my house , etc. I trust him totally. Their motors are very strong and built for reliability. They do not build the fastest cars by any means. He is the first person that will tell you that. |

I was told by Mike and Matt`, not to put words in their mouth, that the White 2002 Mule we had at SR6-7? ran in the high Tens with the automatic trans/ 12 bolt and the C5R 427 putting out over 600hp at the rear wheels.
I remember Larry telling me that he got his ZL1 to run a lot quicker once he got it to shift right and was able to come out of the hole a bit harder and not have to worry about granny shifting it? |

[/ QUOTE ] I could definitely see that...600hp @ wheels is a lotta grunt! I was thinking the majority of the P3 '02 ZL1s were down around 475-500 @ wheels? The majority of those cars are relatively heavy, too... I still laugh thinking of when "Big Dog" told me about running into his first '02 ZL1, while @ Bristol...he had his Stock Appearing '69 ZL1 there, and they wanted to do a mini-shootout type thing for a magazine. I guess they thought it was gonna be a cake walk, with an open headered/sticky tired '02 against the closed exhaust/Polyglass tired "original" looking '69. They make 1 pass, Terry drops an 11.3 @ 127 on them, the '02 is a step back at 11.6 @ like 120, but the shootout idea gets thrown out the window! He did tell me he was really impressed with the '02, though... [BTW: I'm not knocking the cars, they're some of the sickest street cars out there... ![]() |

Both cool cars but I'm more impressed with the '69.

Put a pro-shifted T56 in one and see what it does.

What is a T56 rebuild? I've got one on the ground right now that might need to meet these guys? Where are they? Thanks.
I see the T56rebuilds.com on the video. I'll check that out. |
