Tommy K in NJ had a best 60' of 2.092 with his a/t deuce, but ran a 14.446 @ 94.31

My best 60' of 2.175 awarded me a 14.508 @ 95.54 mph.
My best et is 14.252 @ 98.69.
My best mph is 98.92 with a 14.338 et and a 2.353 60'.

My best 60' in 3 years was this past year at SCR9 with a 2.227, but my et was still only 14.376 @ 97.70.

I'm not sure where to look for improvement into the 13's

M,
At what RPM do you shift? Those LT-1s love Hi Rev's but most people don't like to let them go where they're happiest. Look at the HP curves on some of the articles published on these engines.
Can't say that I blame you; I'd be a little uncomfortable too, but they DO come alive well above 5.5K.

I try to shift at 6k, however, it seems to take a long time to get up to 6k and my itchy shifter arm might be pulling the next gear b4 6k. I think it take's so long because I have a low launch rpm, 2000-2100 - the 2.175 was with slipping the clutch, but it stunk.

Holy crap!! I just noticed this thread Marlin! Sorry to leave you hangin! I have not been reading as much as I would like to these days. I will dig the time slip out from the JJ run and post it.

Since my tach did not work when I owned my Deuce I did not use one! I would just hammer it untill I felt the motor coming apart!

Yea,...will take a few bucks off the resale price In my opinion, running it down the track adds value, it proves that the car can stay together - and run the number

Flipper? Coming from.... a dealer? I've owned my deuce for over 10 years now - plus, I'm a swordfish, not a dolphin

Frank,You drove the car hard but JJ drove it like he stole it. He totally put on a driving show in your car.Not that you couldnt drive the car but I think practice makes perfect.

I didn't think that your name, your Deuce and "resale value" were allowed to be used in the same sentence?

Marlin
When we did that "Killer COPO Shootout" for MRC, my Nova was doing a 2.3 60 foot, and still managed a 13.53 Howz that theory now????? Keep that sexy exhaust on for shows and put on a real exhaust for racing. There exhaust is second to none for shows, but you got a race car now boy!
