Pot smoker and all, Willie is without question a great guy and a true American/Canadian legend!!! .
It seems like he's known as an easy mark to bust for pot since he always has some...so a police officer that comes across him and wants to 'make a name for themself' by busting Willie can just search the bus and they're the Hero? .

I'm a non-smoker myself but pot is everywhere here in rural Ontario Canada where it's now known to be cheaper to smoke the wacky stuff than cigarettes...unless maybe you smoke the 'Indian sticks' that is (sub-standard smokes sold on Native reserves for less than half the price of regular store boughts). .
Average current prices in Canadian dollars;
'Store boughts'...$ 9.00 pk.
'Indian sticks'...$ 3.00 pk.
'Domestic Pot'....$ Free & up?

** The above expressions and terms used only in reference. No attempt to condone or solicit legal/illegal smoking materials is intended. The above is the sole opinion of the writer and has no affiliation with this forum, it's members, moderators or Willie Nelson and associates.

OK I'll respond...Sorry you got yourself all worked up over Wille. You sound like you have quite a few answers as far as law enforcement goes. Maybe you should become one or maybe volunteer as say an Aux officer. For starters I would like to see your " Serious Offense list " that Officers should abide by. Police Enforce the gambit from minor to major offenses. As you stated " Everybody knows" well i guess that would include Law Enforcement so if the police Know about something I hope they act. Of course they should check with you to see if it qualifies under your version of how serious it is right?? Now as far as your reasoning that we all have made mistakes you are correct sir we have. I have paid some consequences for them also. I guess Willie gets the free ride when you are the Police Chief. I get the sense you really do not like Authoritative type people . Cops, The government. I could be wrong and if I an i apologize. If Willie is stupid enough to be smokin the wacky weed after the show and in the company of your Governor and Mayor types let the chips fall where they must. Maybe you can change the law . Many have tried in regards to Pot. Good Luck there. Nobody is a Saint, but many have forgotten about personel responsibility. I admire the fact that Mr Nelson cares so much about the Farmers plight but do not admire him when another celeb does drugs for all to see or hear about. I guess the message for our younger folks is ....ah C'mon it's ok for certain stuff " especially when your a 70 year old hippie as you say. I'm not picking on you Big Block just don't agree with your way of thinking. I guess thats what makes this country so great...

I like Mayor Guiliani's approach - arrest them for jay walking, and they'll think twice before committing the next level of crime.

Why is ok for someone to drink alcohol but not to smoke pot?
I don't want to hear because it is illegal... just because there is a law against something... does not make the law just or constitutional.
I can provide many laws that have, since their enactment been declared unconstitutional. I beleive that all laws infringing upon the personal liberties of the people will be overthrown at some point in the future if not by judges it will be by jury nullification of said laws.
It is the right of the jury to determine not only the guilt or innocence of the person on trial but to also determine whether or not the law is just. This was stated by the founders of the country as the ultimate judge as to whether the lawmakers had overstepped their authority... the juries could decide that even if there was a law... they could find the person on trial "NOT GUILTY" and never have to give an explanation to the judge or anyone else...

BlueL78 I am a little familiar with Law Enforcement! I have numerous friends that are Policemen,Texas Rangers,and a Secret Service Agent.If you are Implying that I have been in trouble with the Law the answer would be yes I have! I was arrested numerous times as a teenager for not paying traffic fines for racing,speeding,etc,arrested numerous times for disturbing the peace(fighting)Never arrested for any drugs,or any Felony Offenses!I guess you could say I was really a pretty good kid except for I liked racing and didn't take no crap off anyone and would rather fight than dance back then.Actually myself and a few others were on First name basis with the Jailer in the City of Houston many years ago!We actually had priveleges due to being repeat frequent customers! Actually I think some Officers we knew just put us in Jail on weekends to keep us out of trouble!LOL You are correct that we do not agree on Willie Nelson today and probably not tomorrow! I don't have problems with people with AUTHORITY!Just ask my Wife She has more authority than I do and we don't have problems! I think you know where I stand and I know where you stand on Old Willie,and believe it or not I respect your opinions.I may not totally agree with you but I do respect them.We can post for days and days but to me I think people on this site would rather read information about other things than our opinions on Willie and a litle Pot.You actually have a tough and dangerous job as a Police Officer and I commend you on being what you are an Officer of the Law.I do honestly respect Laws and Law Enforcement,I just don't totally agree with them all! And one being Laws on POT!I am a registered voter,and vote at every election,sometimes the Wife tells me which way to vote because She is the Authority and not me!LOL But I do vote and I do write to Represenatives,Congressmen and Congressladies concerning my views,I do start some and sign some petitions going around.So as you can tell I am active in trying to make changes when I believe they need to be made.Good luck to you in your Job as a Police Officer and stay safe and for Gods sake keep doing what you do because we Americans definately need people like you out there.We may not agree with each others views and we may have different opinions about different things but we are Both Americans,standing up for what we believe and that is part of what makes AMERICA the GREAT COUNTRY SHE IS!

I think Willie should retire and grow his own pot on his own farm and get subsidized by the government for not growing corn or something.

I'd say another two generations need to die off and then it will be legal and we can worry about real crime.

Probably about right...
Even the cops I know wish it would be legalized so they could get back to catching real criminals...
