So, if you had collected all the stuff you ever saw over the years.
Would you be selling now?
Do you think the values of the old parts will continue to rise?
Could that $400 RC15 be worth $600 in 2 years?
Or, do you think this stuff has peaked, and you would dump it all now?

Only just a few years back, I helped liquidate a lifelong collection of Ford Model A & T parts.
We couldn't give the stuff away.

Yep. It is time for some items. I think Ebay has all of us going through boxes. I am a pack rat that loves my parts more than money so it is hard. I always liked to trade more than sell.I think the repo market also will determine if the value of old parts will continue to rise.If the repo part is manufactured properly kiss the top dollars for our nos stuff goodbye. Also a lot of the NOS was not that good even new especially chromed items.
I can see the issue with the model a parts but think it would have been a different story if they were 33-34 ford items.
Unfortunately I have only saved 70 ss chevelle parts for 30 years and still have the first one I bought in 76. Hope some day I don't have the same problem as the model a.

Well, I thought ahead, and grabbed every little part I could find for many-many years, and still have most of it.
Just don't have the time to go through and inventory it all.
Now I am starting to worry that I might miss the boat on these ridiculous prices.

Last year I said: "2006 was the year to liquidate", but here we are again in September -
This summer, I did sell about 25 sets of seat belts.
And maybe 30 POA valves.

Barely made a dent, but the wife was happy.

Jeff, are those parts in your house? I though I was the only one with that disease!

No, they are not. The wife would never allow it.
I have them in a office suite, at a building I own.

People really get a kick when i show them my "parts room"

O'No your not alone, my wife found a ZL-1 starter under our bed, in a box. I had some explaining to do. I knew I had put that thing somewhere.

These parts are like these cars we love, Generational. As long as our generation loves these cars I guess we'll keep paying what ever we have to for the right parts. My first introduction into stupid money for old parts was about 4 years ago. I took a pair of original front spiral shocks off a 69 Z28 with 89K miles on it. Just before putting them in the trash can I thought, these are cooling looking shocks maybe somebody out there can rebuild them. I put them on eBay as a lark and they sold for 775.00. I gave the buyer every opportunity to back out of the deal by reminding him they have 89K miles on them and would not be safe to use. He told me he would have paid double that amount. I can't imagine what they would sell for today. I keep everything now. I guess that's why that starter was under my bed.

Tell me about it! Here's what every closet in my house looks like... When the stuff gets stacked up as high as the bottom of clothes on hangers, i move to the next closet.... I definitely need to get rid of some clothes.

Just be glad you guys don't live by yourself, or all your spare bedrooms somehow end up looking like this.

Here is some of my stash. I have been organizing it over the last several weeks. A mix of some LS1 parts as well as original and NOS 69 and 70 Camaro stuff. This is in my upstairs bedroom which doubles as my Drum practice room.
