Very cool car! I wouldn't sell it either.
How are the power brakes working with that monster "540" motor?

Thanks everybody for the compliments on the car. I do not think the car wants to get sold either. On Saturday I took the car to an informal car show that is held every Saturday morning at a doughnut shop by my house here in Huntington Beach. I took a little detour before I went home. It seemed that the car was starting to foul a plug or 2 so I thought a little drive down the street would help. The car stalled at a light and would not start for about 15 minutes. I got it started and limped home. It was running so rich that it used about a quarter of a tank in about 4 miles and fouled the plugs. I get to tear the carb apart this week and see what went wrong. This local car show is not Pavilions but I have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of cars that just pop up out of nowhere. Pretty much everything ends by 8:30am or when our wives wake up. The power brakes work pretty close to what I would expect from a factory solid lifter motor. I have not measured the vacuum but I would say it works better than it did with the LS6 that I had in the car last year. The bigger problem was finding the right valve covers to look like they came from that era and clear the roller rockers and the power brake booster. The next problem is making sure the rally sport front end is leak free and hooking it up to the motor. I hope I have enough vacuum to run both.

Mark...I know of the car cruise at the donut shop in HB that you're referring to...I've been there a couple of times myself. You definitely have to get up early to get to that show. In fact...let me know if it's going this weekend...We will be in SoCal. I just might try and get out there

You car is cool. Again, thanks so much for sharing it with all of us

Bruce, They pretty much meet every Saturday as long as the weather allows for it. If you are bringing a car, you need to be there before 6:00am to get a good parking space. If you want to see all the cars try to be there before 7:00am because some of the cars are already leaving by then. Its kind of neat because I walk the whole lot about 8 times and a new car will pop up filling in a empty parking space. E-mail me at [email protected] if you need directions or if you want to meet up.

That must be the "Doughnut Derelicts" cruise-in? I've heard it's reached near-legendary status. Wish we had something like that around here!

Those are Motion decals I have had around the house for years. I am sure they are reproductions. I also have 1969 Pomona Winternationals, Old style NHRA and AHRA decals I thought about putting on the car, maybe on the rear bumper. But I think I am getting close to having to much. I want to have a look that I remember from that era but I still want to be subtle.
