Would the "Yenko ZL-1" be the rarest of all Yenkos? Should it should not really be called a "ZL-1" due to the fact it is not one of the 69 ZL-1 Camaros. Do they have documentation to authenticate the installation of the ZL-1 at Yenko?

Steve, thanks for the ticket. (I'll buy you a sausage+pepper sandwich when I see you there ) Let me know what day your car is going across the block. I think the L-89 is going on Saturday. Thanks again, Rich.

It should be going Sat around 3:00 pm from what they told me. I have to drop it off on Wednesday for the Aloha Automotive display area.

Steve:
I'll be there at the auction also, hanging out at the Aloha tent some of the time. Tommy is taking one of my cars, a 1970 Cuda 6pack convert. Hopefully we can meet, would be nice to put faces with persons from this site.

Pretty sure this car was on Ebay a couple of months ago. Yenko did not do the conversion. In the late 70's a guy bought the engine from the Yenko parts department (over the counter) and reportedly installed it in this Camaro. If I remember correctly, it has a six cyl VIN. I have no idea when the yenko stripe kit was put on.

I don't want to get too nit picky, but find the following excerpt from the green Yenko listing to be somewhat amusing, as they have obviously confused the ZL1 history with the Yenko history.

"Chevrolet reportedly ordered 50 Yenko Camaros for sale to the general public through select dealerships, and that number is rumored to have climbed to 69 before the year was over. Either way this is one rare muscle car that is sure to be a great investment while offering the pleasure of extreme performance."

I would expect more from an auction like this.

Lynn

Young Man,

I looked at your car on the web. It is magnificent. Awesome. Wow. I'll be by the display to take a closer look, too.

You will do very well.

My COPO is supposed to go across the Block between 8-9 pm Saturday night. I believe a Yenko Car(I assume the Red Car) is a few ahead of me, than after me (Not in this specific order) an Original GT40, another Yenko(The Real One) and the Z-28 Drop top etc. It should be an exciting Day to say the least. as long as My exhaust system makes it back from Mississippi........in time!

I just got back from dropping off the Z11. There are a few million dollars worth of musclecars there already. Almost had the Hindenberg Part Duex occur. Some idiot let their supermodel girlfriend drive their Saleen sports car to the acution. She drove it all the way from where-ever, with the emergency brake on. She waited until she pulled into the building, about 100 feet from the 71 hemicuda ragtop and 68 Z28 convertible before someone could stop her: both rear calipers were fully engulfed in flames. They used half a dozen baking soda fire extinguishers to put it out. Someone must have dragged her out of the car because we saw some guy backing it out and Ms. Supermodel trying to walk backwards in 7-inch heals toward the exit. You'da thought she was blonde or something: she actually walked backwards the entire way out. I guess when they yelled at her to back it the hell out, she took them seriously. You can just imagine how happy everyone was having to remove that baking powder (read that as powdered sandpaper) from the surface of their cars after these guys just spent the past 2 weeks detailing. You just cant make this stuff up. I took some photos so lets see if I can get them to link up. Here's the aftermath with a new Ferrari covered in fire extinguisher dust:
