[ QUOTE ]
M = Green Interior [/ QUOTE ] Greg, I don't think so... Pretty sure that "G" was green... There was also an "S" for sandlewood I believe. I'll check my records this evening and see what I can turn up for "M". [ QUOTE ] M, or Rowdy Rat, do you remember the tag for that BB car that did not fit? [/ QUOTE ] The car was a LeMans blue/black interior L-78 car with an "A2" code. The interior code of "A" fit OK, but the car had NO exterior trim where a "2" would indicate it should have had a body side molding or lower body molding. It was said to be a low mile, original car, but it is hard to say for certain if it was... I don't think, Marlin, Brian, or I were able to inspect the car in any detail because of the setting. This was the only exception out of a couple hundred cars that I've looked at to this point. I would guess that Marlin has looked at more than I have and can comment on what he has seen. Regards, Stan |

I agree with Stan 100%, not sure how many cars I've looked at though. I don't really keep track of the cars that fit the mold, but I'm really looking for the exceptions. That blue/black L78 didn't have any clues of the moldings. I remember looking in the trunk with Stan to see if the holes at the ends of the body side moldings had been mudded over - didn't look like it. It was a decent car, just couldn't figure out the discrepancy.
I also believe 'G' is for the green interior, 'S' is for Sandalwood, 'B' is Blue and 'A' is black. Does this car have a cloth interior?

Rowdy Rat;
G does equal GREEN, But so does M. Here is what I think the codes in 69 mean. Remember there were two green interiors used in 1969. What I do not know is if the interior paint was a different shade for each trim style. G = For use with Medium Green trim M = for use with Midnight Green trim The data size is small about 130 cars for 1969 (partial or full entries). It is a shame that most Nova guys do not collect trim tags and VINs like the Camaro guys do. Or at least they do not submit them to the Nova Research Project. I have not really validated the 1, 2, or 3 numbers. I did find exceptions. But most were cars that could have been modified. These were cars I could not look at further. So far everything seems to check out. GregR

Ironically, BigDog called this afternoon and was saying the all original car in question has green interior! So, you may be on to something!
Now that you have that settled: explain the difference between a big block and a small block radiator support! |

Checked the broadcast sheets for my 70 L78, the letter A appears in the trim section. I'm going to check all the #'s this weekend and compare options and trim to the sheet.
Hi Stan! Tom

# Two; the extra holes in the top for the hold down flap.
# Three; the extra nut welded to the passenger side for the rad bracket. More?
