Anyone want a 71? I'll sell my grandad's Continental cheap (for 1/2 of 1/2 that amount!)

Money comes and goes, but having your grandads car is priceless.

The funny thing is that he was a behind-the-scenes, financial genius at ABC. He was the consummate deal-maker. Every TV show he gave the go-ahead for became legendary: The Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family, Mod Squad, Wide World of Sports, Charlies Angels, to name a few. He would not comprehend keeping something like that around when its value could be put to use.

He would be the first one to smack me upside the head and say: "You Meshugenah! You mean you tell me that could sell my old work car and invest the returns for my great-grandchildren's financial benefit and you're not doing that? Don't make me tell Gramma Rose about this! Such a troublemaker you are!"

And he'd be smiling the entire time he said it, with a wink in his eye.

There is now a video by a guy that tells you where it was before and for sale for around 90K. A guy bought it , installed the Coyote engine and interior. The brought it to Barrett.

The buyer of the $1M Continental looked like he just graduated from Geek Squad school.

A buyer that doesn't do their due diligence or have a clue what they are doing, gets what they deserve...
Who was the other "person" bidding against him ?? The owners shill bidder ? Or are there 2, um, I'll call them uninformed people.

that town car is really neat!! My dad's cousin had lincolns as long as I can remember and had one same colors as that. Even though we all loved sporty cars, that big boat always got our respect.

The cars are run at no reserve. There is no shill in this situation needed. While I did watch the bidder on this car, I do not know the particulars. However; a scenario which is called ‘running the bid’……wherein the auction keeps hitting you for a bid when there is no other bid. If the house / auction goes past the only bidders number then they back up the bid to that number and make it seem like just a simple mistake.

Once you are aware of this auction tactic you will see it employed often.
