I had remembered seeing a Chevelle like this in Hot Rod years ago but after finding the magazine and comparing pictures, it doesn't seem to be the same car. - Sorry for the sideways pictures. They were upright on my computer.

You had no choice in So CAL in the mid 70s.
this was the start of Ca state smog inspection system.
If you were pulled over at that time the police would look under your hood.

Somewhere is my stash of magazines, I have that issue of Hot Rod.

I noticed the Gotelli Speed Shop license plate frame.
Gotelli Speed Shop was owned by Ted Gotelli and was located in South San Francisco
