This thread sure ended up being a great source of esoteric '67 info. As for the claimed L78 car, it was bid to $45k the last time around, with the reserve not met, and has been relisted in the link below:

The previous auction ending at $45,100 is way beyond all the money for that car IMHO.
Sad thing is, there's a good chance that it really has the original block, but spoiled by decking and stamping it as something it isn't.

He did remove "L78" from his description after I replied that it was a restamp and a 2-bolt block so could not be an L78. But he left the 375HP references and the "numbers matching" references. That's like putting a bandaid on a shotgun wound!

Still insisting it's number matching engine with the wrong block casting. Must have been a Monday morning screw up at the engine factory, eh ?
