Default Depends

The 5262 is an exact number from GM records. The line also states includes Acadians.
It all depends on whether the 4951 number is accurate for L78's, that is posted all over?

Paul

Isn't 311 the same # knocked around for years as '69 L89 Camaro production?
Good stuff otherwise Paul!

Not sure what information is already out there so please forgive the redundancies: Chevelle would include ELKY's where applicable by date:
I also included any other 396/325 rated motors:

1965 Impala. - 1838 (425 HP)
1965 Chevelle - 201 (Z16)
1965 Corvette - 2157 (396/425)

1966 Chevelle - 3099

1967 Chevelle - 612
1967 Camaro - 1138*

1968 Chevelle - 4751
1968 Camaro - 4575*
1968 Chevy II - 667

1969 Shows as preliminary so may not be final shows through Aug 1969

1969 Chevelle - 9486
1969 Chevy II. - 5262. (Includes Acadians)
1969 Chevy II. - 4951 (Therefore 311 Acadian L78's)
1969 Camaro. - 4550 final may be: 4889

* Some converted to L72 Yenkos

The 1965 Z16 Chevelle Malibu SS 396 is not an L78. It's a one year only L37. It has hydraulic lifters not solid like the L78

I had stated for quite some time I had believed the L78 total for 69 to include the 9560 and 9561 programs as they were ordered as L78's to get the suspension then had a substitution list.

How would the L78 suspension be different than the L34-L35 optioned cars? Would not all big block cars share the same suspension parts? The only difference between any BB 69 Camaro that I am aware of, is the L78 single fuel line vs the q-jet variants have 2 lines. Your inference is that the L78 has a unique suspension, right?

Maybe lighter spring rate due to aluminum intake? Personally I think it was driven by the single 3/8 fuel line and throttle linkage due to the common Holley carb between L78 and L72.
