I was at a Brit Floyd concert a week ago Sunday as a VIP and sitting in the front row. A gentleman sitting two seats away stood up at intermission and had a sudden medical condition causing a seizure. I jumped up to help along with another concert goer when the man rolled through the only non secured part of the orchestra pit we were in and into a very small and cramped storage compartment 2' below the pit. I jumped in along with the other first responder to try and assess the man's condition and administer 1st aid. The victim was seizing and convulsing badly as well as kicking and swinging his arms and rolled the opposite way into what we both thought was another storage compartment. It was in fact a pit below the orchestra pit and was what I estimated to be a 30' drop to concrete. The other responder followed thinking it too was another storage area as it was pitch black and I started to follow them when I heard the first two impacts stopping just short of falling. The victim later died from blunt force trauma and the other responder suffered major impact injuries. I only suffered from the after effects. The whole event took less than 30 seconds from begining to end. Now every time Pink Floyd (my favorite 70's group) comes on the radio I have to turn it off or leave the room. I hope I get over it by Red Rock in June.

I went to the same high school that Mark Farner did. He was two years ahead of me. He got picked on a bunch, mostly because of his exceptionally long hair. There was a small private park-like place called "Sherwood Forest". GFR would play there a lot. They had what was known as "Wild Wednesday", which was put on by the local AM radio station, WTAC, where a whole carload of people could get in for 7 bucks. Also saw Bob Segar play there. Ah, the good ole days!

I remember that now too! AM 600! The sticker to get into Sherwood was a big orange flower. Hippie style!

Wow Rick,
I'm happy you were not injured more seriously or "worse". That is a weird circumstance indeed... God Bless you, the poor fella that died and the good Samaritan that was seriously injured. Rich
