I downloaded the engine pics, and the 6 6 in the VIN stamp on the front of the block (top does not roll over), looks different than the 66 in the back of the block, and definitely the trans. Other than that, what a nice car.

I believe that is the same Ed Stinn COPO that Bob Ehrhart and then C.K. Spurlock owned back in the late 80's or early 90's. I have in my notes that the car they had contained a CE block, so if this is the same car it was most likely restamped.
That LS6 Chevelle looks familiar too. I saw one similar to it back in the 90's. That one was from Nebraska I believe and was owned by a Mr. Lang. His car was a Astro Blue with black stripes and had a bench seat, M22 trans and 4.10 gears. It was said to be all numbers matching. It looks like the same car, but I can't verify that. |

I believe Glen Weaver owned this LS6 at one time.

I don't think there were any pics of the COPO's engine pad and when I tried to look at the auction the pad was painted. Restamp probably explains why there were no pics of the pad.

The Garnet Red COPO Camaro from Ed Stinn was featured in the October 1988 issue of Guide to Muscle Cars. At that time is was owned by Bob Ehrhart of Memphis TN. In the story it states he tracked down all of the previous owners and obtained all of the original documentation. There is a photo of the dealer sales order form in the magazine showing a John Bricker as the original owner. It also states that the car had 31K miles and only needed engine detailing and paint to bring it to show condition. It was repainted my Mike Dill at the Memphis Auto Center.
